The scholarships we provide are in Ghana, Africa but we also provide resources and mentorship to youth in different communities in Chicago, IL. We connect the youth from different continents, allowing them to share the experiences they have in their own community.
TaHara Cooper, the visionary behind Lyrik Place, is a steadfast advocate for youth empowerment with a lifelong commitment to creating positive, lasting change. A pillar in Chicago’s Englewood community, TaHara has spent years building programs that provide young people with essential social and emotional skills, guiding them toward lives filled with resilience, empathy, and purpose. Recognizing the critical role of these skills in students' success, she developed the "Living Beyond Existing" program, which equips youth with the tools needed to navigate challenges, build strong relationships, and positively impact their communities. Her commitment extends globally through the international arm of her nonprofit Lyrik Place, where she supports young girls in Ghana by providing annual scholarships and basic necessities. This initiative seeks to break down barriers, granting access to education and resources that can change the trajectory of these young girls' lives. TaHara believes If a child feels loved they will give love and Love is what makes us all better people. TaHara's local and international work embodies her belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive, and her dedication continues to inspire and uplift communities around the world.
